"Stop using our past". City of Orange, CA Telling the Truth While Fighting to Save its His

"Stop using our dead family member's history that is rooted in the soil of this very City, to achieve political success whether you're on the left of the aisle or right of the aisle". By Robert Baca Robert Baca: "I wanted to share this photo with you guys as it is worth a thousand words!" This picture depicts my great-grandparents home in the Cypress Street Barrio in Orange, CA. I got to see this at our annual picnic where we showcase the past of our elders. We share our ancestors achievements, their trials and there push for equality back a hundred years ago within this city, we call Orange, where it all took place I want to say it is a shameful act by candidates all around to try to assimi

Surging China Interbank Interest Rates Reveal Rural Bank “Slow Motion Crisis”

China’s Shanghai Interbank Offered Rate (SHIBOR) shot up to a record of 13.44 percent last week as deteriorating loans at rural banks forced panicked short-term borrowing. Shibor has published daily reference rates since 2006 for wholesale interest rates charged by Chinese banks to other banks for unsecured overnight to one-year money-market loans. Shibor’s median overnight borrowing rate had been averaging about 1.84 percent in June. But the surge to 13.44 percent on June 20 was higher than 8.22 percent in January 2011 at the height of the Global Credit Crisis. The People’s Bank of China flooded the banking system with 50 billion yuan($7.2 billion) of short-term liquidity to push the overni

STOP BLAMING TRUMP in California: GOP Registration Going UP Elsewhere

In California, GOP “leaders” are telling candidates not to mention Trump, to ignore him, to “campaign on California issues instead”. In 2018 we took that advice and lost seven congressional seats, five Assembly seats and three Senate seats—and a Board of equalization seat. We also got outsmarted by Democrats that used the law to harvest ballots, while the GOP did nothing. “In Kentucky and Louisiana, which both have governors’ races this year, the number of registered Republicans increased since 2016 while the number of registered Democrats decreased. In Florida and Pennsylvania, two major 2020 battleground states, Republicans are outperforming Democrats in voter registration. “That does go

Calif. Begins Removing 5 Million Inactive Voters on Its Rolls

Los Angeles County has started the process of removing from its registration rolls an estimated 1.5 million inactive voters who have moved, died or become ineligible to cast a ballot, an effort to comply with federal election law and a court settlement with Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog. The county, the most populous in the United States, recently mailed notices to the inactive voters in an effort to verify their residency status and whether they are still alive. It’s the first time in 20 years that Los Angeles County has cleaned its voter rolls, having previously interpreted the federal law requiring it as not mandatory. Under the terms of the settlement, voters who do not respond

Despite Surplus Claims, CA Can’t Fund Pensions

California has long struggled with budget problems, which have persisted regardless of who’s in charge of governing the state. But when Gov. Gavin Newsom took over, he promised the Golden State had already been pulled “back from the brink of fiscal insolvency.” Newsom claimed (pdf) the state was “finally tearing down the remaining wall of budgetary debt, paying down pension obligations, and building up the most robust and prudent budget reserve in state history. The state’s legislative analyst’s office estimated California had a robust $20.6 billion surplus, while cautioning that market volatility could still affect revenue for the governor’s $209 billion state budget. Currently, California

Oregon Republican Senators "Absent" Themselves to Fight Carbon Tax

Carbon credit is a generic term for any tradable certificate or permit representing the right to emit one tonne of carbon dioxide or the equivalent amount of a different greenhouse gas (tCO2e). Carbon credits and carbon markets are a component of national and international attempts to mitigate the growth in concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHGs). One carbon credit is equal to one tonne of carbon dioxide, or in some markets, carbon dioxide equivalent gases. Carbon trading is an application of an emissions trading approach. Greenhouse gas emissions are capped and then markets are used to allocate the emissions among the group of regulated sources. The goal is to allow market mechanisms to d

Jim Breslo: For California's Gov. Gavin Newsom, ignoring the law has become a winning strategy

There are now 25 Democrats seeking their party's presidential nomination to run against President Trump in 2020. As the president takes to Twitter to fend them off in the same style he used to defeat 16 Republican rivals in 2016, there is another Democrat who may prove to be a bigger thorn in his side: California Gov. Gavin Newsom. While Trump was announcing the cessation of aid to Central American countries earlier this month, Newsom was there, meeting with the president of El Salvador and the U.S. ambassador. He was carrying the opposite message, expressing the importance of U.S. aid. “America needs leadership internationally,” he said. “California will assert itself if this administrati

Gavin Newsom predicts the GOP will devolve into a third party: 'They are finished'

Gov. Gavin Newsom D-Calif., said the GOP has shot itself in the foot on policy issues and will eventually devolve into a third party. The Californian Democrat made the stunning claim during an interview with Axios that aired Sunday. "I'm just hearing stuff that gins up a smaller and smaller base of people. And that's my point... California in the 1990s is a lot like America in 2019, 2020, 2021. And here's the real story -- The Republican party was walked off a cliff," Newsom said. "They're third-party status. It's exactly what Donald Trump is doing and Mitch McConnell, who is completely complicit, is doing [to] the Republican party nationally. And they don't even know what's about to hit the

Sacramento cop fatally shot by gunman in ambush, suspect surrenders after 8-hour standoff: report

A police officer in Sacramento, Calif., died late Wednesday hours after a suspect opened fire on her and other officers while responding to a domestic violence call. Police later identified the slain officer as 26-year-old Tara O'Sullivan. The suspected gunman surrendered to authorities after he'd barricaded himself inside a home for nearly eight hours, The Sacramento Bee reported. She was part of the first class of graduates of Sacramento State's Law Enforcement Candidate Scholars program in 2017 and went on to the Sacramento Police Academy.

Calif.’s free health care for illegal immigrants an unsustainable financial burden

The health and welfare of Californians and the undocumented immigrants who flocked to that state are now under direct attack by a state bureaucracy that sees people only as disposable pieces on a political chessboard. California is on the verge of becoming the first state in the country to give free health care to adult illegal immigrants. Using the state Medi-Cal program, which offers free or low-cost health coverage for those with limited incomes, the state estimates this will provide free health care to what they believe is 100,000 illegal immigrants between the ages of 19 and 25 years old. A Washington Examiner editorial noted, “California wants to look after its people, so it keeps expa

America’s First Third-World State

A man who said he is homeless stands outside his makeshift home near a housing construction project in San Francisco, Calif., in 2015. (Robert Galbraith/Reuters) Medieval diseases, gangs, corruption, crime, crumbling infrastructure, out-of-touch wealthy elites … ‘Third World” is now an anachronistic geographical term of the old Cold War. But after 1989, “Third World” was reinvented from a political noun into an adjective to mean more than just Asian, African, and Latin American nations nonaligned with either the West or the Soviet bloc. Rather, the current modifier “Third World” has come to transcend geography, politics, and ethnicity. It simply denotes poor failed states all over the globe

Trump raises $24.8 million in less than 24 hours, RNC says

President Donald Trump raked in nearly $25 million in campaign contributions for his re-election effort in less than 24 hours, the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee said Wednesday. “@realDonaldTrump has raised a record breaking $24.8M in less than 24 hours for his re-election,” RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel wrote on Twitter, hours after the president formally launched his 2020 bid the previous evening with a rally in Orlando, Fla. “The enthusiasm across the country for this President is unmatched and unlike anything we’ve ever seen! #trump2020 #KeepAmericaGreat,” McDaniel continued. McDaniel did not specify the exact timing of Trump’s haul, but if it represents a first-day fund

Part II: CAGOP Insiders Speak Out

Present Another View as to the Health of the Party Typical of when your intrepid blogger writes and incendiary post related to internal CAGOP Politics, there are multiple responses. People whose opinion I trust and who I consider friends posited a lot of information confirming most all facts as presented, however offering a different conclusion about what they mean. They all asked to not be identified, but I had multiple conversations today with multiple people. Confirmed: It appears that the donors donating to the CAGOP are giving less. Confirmed: It appears that there are fewer donors to the CAGOP than previously. No one is arguing that. Confirmed: Over half the CAGOP staff is gone. People

Part I: The CAGOP is Broke, People are Bailing

Those That Bankrupt the CAGOP are Shredding the Party Platform Update: Since the original posting of this blog, other insiders with knowledge of the finances have been candid with your intrepid blogger about the financial situation. There will be a follow up blog posted tomorrow. They also confirmed that our accounts of the Platform Committee Drama and attempts to eviscerate the CAGOP platform are 100% accurate. I wrote about the CAGOP Platform and how the liberals / consultants / staff have a majority of the delegates to achieve the lifelong goal of most all the liberal GOP’ers I’ve met. This goal is to get rid of social issues from the CAGOP platform and compromise. They are so strident in

Tucker Carlson: California, once a symbol of the American Dream, now represents everything that'

For generations, California symbolized everything that was fantastic and was great about America. It was the most beautiful place in the world -- snowcapped mountains, pristine beaches, lush inland valleys. But it was more than a vacation spot. California supported the biggest middle class in the country. It had an education system that was the envy of the world. It had gleaming infrastructure. California was the state that made the American dream a reality. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM TUCKER CARLSON. Now the State of California is known for a very different set of images: Needles and feces in the street, a dying middle class, the country's highest poverty rate, policies that prioritize ill

California governor says Republican Party is headed 'into the waste bin of history'

wp:paragraph California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) in an interview published Monday said the Republican Party is headed for the “waste bin of history.” In an interview with Politico, Newsom compared national Republicans to the GOP in California in the 1990s. California Republicans were once a force, but have seen their power disappear over the last two decades. Washington Republicans will "go the same direction — into the waste bin of history, the way Republicans of the '90s have gone. That’s exactly what will happen to this crop of national Republicans,” Newsom told Politico. Former California Gov. Pete Wilson's (R) push for a ballot measure in 1994 that prohibited illegal immigrants from gain

PG&E’s bankruptcy: Renewable energy costs at 800% of market rates

PG&E’s bankruptcy court revealed that the company may dump its state-mandated renewable energy source contracts that cost up to 800 percent more than market rates. California mandated a zero carbon emissions future by passing the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006. With PG&E residential electric rates rising by 71 percent to subsidizing renewables, Northern Californians’ electricity costs 19.30 cents per kilowatt-hour, or about double the 10.66 cents in Oregon and 9.46 cents in Washington. Pacific Gas & Electric filed for “Chapter 22” in January, as California’s largest utility was forced for the second time in 15 years into a Chapter 11 bankruptcy due to the state’s social justice legal

California rated biggest contributor to America’s productivity growth

California, with a productivity growth rate of +1.7 percent from 2000 to 2017 was the biggest contributor to America’s productivity growth, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The nonpartisan Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) as a branch of the of the U.S. Department of Labor has been calculating productivity measures for the U.S. economy since 1884 by measuring labor market activity, working conditions, and price changes in the economy. The BLS has regularly reported that the U.S. productivity annual gains have fallen relentlessly from a +2.7 percent in 1966 to just a +0.5 percent recently. But in a new study of U.S. state-level productivity study, including state-level output per h

Stunner! California Recession Numbers

Coming California Recession: New California State WILL Happen “We estimate that a relatively mild recession would produce a drop in total General Fund revenue between $28 billion and $36 billion spread over three years. Should the state experience a moderate recession, revenue declines would range between $69 billion and $100 billion over four years. And finally, in a severe recession declines would be even deeper, between $173 billion and $185 billion over five years.” Public Policy Institute May 2019 The numbers are starting to come in from the Public Policy Institute of California from their May 2019 report Preparing for California’s Next Recession for the state of California.
